I first discovered Effy's while walking with my son through the neighborhood, and we decided to stop in for brunch on their lovely patio. The weather was perfect that day, and our server was incredibly kind and attentive. Since then, we've returned numerous times, even bringing family from out of town. While it's a small spot, the food is always fresh, flavorful, and light--not overly oily or heavy. The portion sizes are generous and satisfying. The only suggestion I'd make is for the patio to be cleaned more regularly. Since it's a wooden deck, I believe some people may use it as a resting spot or even a place to drink when I restaurant closes for the evening, which can affect the cleanliness and smell. On a few occasions, when we've sat outside, it hasn't been very pleasant, so we've opted to move inside instead. Overall, Effy's is a great neighborhood gem with delicious food, and I'm sure we'll continue to visit! Just a small note on the patio could make the experience even better.

The food was so delicious fresh made pancakes with strawberries made for an awesome brunch I also had a energy smoothie the awesome decor and a very friendly staff with them always giving excellent recommendations of the many different appetizers and if you are a vegetarian you will not be disappointed and also they have a wide assortment of fresh brewed teas and coffee and while the weather is good they have outdoor seating..Another great thing they offer a discount for paying in cash

Excellent food and service. Falafel platter and Caesar Salad (with kale) were both prepared quickly and everything was clean and super tasty. The street is heavily trafficked but it's NY so that is to be expected.

Sorry, but I have to deduct a star. I know this is NYC, I know where there is food there is "pestilence"....but pestilence generally doesn't come out during the day. (I saw a mouse. The staff also witnessed the mouse.) If mgmt is reading this....please get an exterminator.

Had a great experience here. I had the grilled halloumi sandwich, which tasted wonderful and was very reasonably priced. Would definitely come again when I'm next in the neighborhood.

Stumbled in here with my mom after an appointment at Mount Sinai and even though we got there right at 9, we were seated while the staff finished getting ready. The food was really good. I have only had shakshuka once before and it was so soupy and the eggs were runny and I wasn't too fond of it. Thankfully I took a risk and had the shakshuka here. It was a little spicy, the eggs were cooked to perfection, and the addition of the cheese and spinach was ideal. They also slightly toasted the pita which made it *chefs kiss*. My mom had pancakes with a side of eggs. They give generous portions at affordable prices. Also a very special treat was when the waitress steamed the milk for our regular coffee. Into it!!

Cute hidden gem serving Mediterranean and American. Busting during weekend breakfast/brunch. The price point can't be beat. The service was good considering tables were turning very quickly! It was popular for solo diners, couples and a few parties with kids. The exposed bricks and rustic decor make for a relaxing vibe. I only stopped in for a quick breakfast but will be back for the Mediterranean breakfast or the falafel!

I have been here a few times for lunch and it's always incredible! They do not take reservations and the inside is relatively small but they also have outdoor dining (no heat lamps though). The restaurant does get pretty busy so it's a little challenging to accommodate bigger groups at peak hours. I have had the falafel platter, falafel wrap and the rise and shine wrap and all are amazing. The price for the portion size is truly unbeatable and the service is always great. I have also tried the Mediterranean salmon and not only was it delicious but the size of the salmon was very generous. Will definitely be back!

Great little cafe on 100th St! I ordered the middle eastern omelette with salad and breakfast potatoes. The salad was pretty basic, and the potatoes were seasoned really well. The friend I was eating with ordered the Avocado Toast platter and also really enjoyed her meal. The space is definitely cozy but they can accommodate groups pretty easily. Service was fast and friendly. Overall Effy's serves quality food, with normal portions, for a pretty good price. I'd recommend for anyone looking for a casual, healthy brunch option in the neighborhood.

Great breakfast here! 3 of us split the challah french toast, green shakshuka, and the egg breakfast. It was a perfect quantity of food, maybe slightly too much. I loved the french toast, and the fried halloumi was wonderful. The shakshuka was good, but texture-wise it was a bit off. Definitely would recommend this place!
